ADVOCACY FRAMEWORK
BACKGROUND
There are a lot of sightseeing places here in the Philippines where all of us can visit anytime, however there are also places which hold a remarkable history background that are being left out and are not given the exact attention needed. In this advocacy, we will focus more on Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church located in Naga, Cebu City. The advocacy will approach the minds of our fellow citizens to give attention to this kind of sculpture and to also remind them how important and worth it the Church is.
Shrines like Saint Francis of Assisi play an important role, it is not just part of the economy in the city but it is also part of the people especially on their religious beliefs. It is believed that a lot of churches here in Cebu are not given the deserved attention. By this advocacy we will make sure to work on it and to spread awareness regarding the importance of this sculptures.
AIM
•One of our aims as an advocate is to make a difference in the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish. Specifically, the restoration of the shrine. By this restoration we can make changes in the church and which benefits not just the church but also for the economy of Naga City. Our main aim here is to open up the minds of the people to know the importance of our Pamana.
OBJECTIVES
•One of our aims as an advocate is to make a difference in the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish. Specifically, the restoration of the shrine. By this restoration we can make changes in the church and which benefits not just the church but also for the economy of Naga City.
•To gain commitment of the government and church leaders to give us full access to making changes to the shrine.In Order for us to gain the commitment of our government and our church faculties.We will conduct a meeting for both guest and our team will present a proper proposal and plans in restoring the church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Naga City.
•Next is to open up the minds of our people not just the locals but to everyone. Through this we can show them the worth of this kind of historical landmark in our city.
TARGETS
Tourists: Tourists are people who can contribute to the shrine because if there are people in the shrine it will become more popular and might become a famous attraction, Tourists from all around the world would then be indulged to know the shrine's culture and participate in activities.
.Citizens of Naga:the Citizens of Naga will have a big impact on the shrine because they are the local people who are near the shrine if many local citizens go to the shrine it might become a habit for them to go to the shrine daily and might participate in daily activities in the shrine.
ALLIES/PARTNERS
•Church Facilities --- are one of the potentials to be part of our advocacy. They can be a big help for us to know more about the shrine. Since they work there, they can help us collect donations and stuff that can be used to improve the structure of the Archdiocesan Parish Church.
•Netizens in Naga City --- We can join forces together with them. They can help us persuade more people to support our advocacy on changing and preserving this kind of sculpture. Their main job is to help us spread awareness and news regarding the advocacy.
•Naga City Government--- Having them as partners for our advocacy would be a big help. They can support us and give us feedback on what is our goal for this advocacy. There is a lot of chance that they can give us donations for our project. Through this donation we can make a lot of changes to transform the shrine into a historical and a tourist spot in Naga City.
ACTIVITIES & OUTPUTS
•Monthly Clean-Up Drive --- by this activity , it is obvious that our main goal here is to keep the cleanliness of the shrine. Every month we will have a monthly general cleaning for the whole church together with our volunteers and church faculties.
•Donations --- We can restore and improve the structure of the shrine through donations. Every mass we will distribute white envelopes to the church goers to ask for donations. Any amount of money will do.
•Campaign Posters --- We will attach informative posters through the place to let the people see the true beauty of the shrine.
•Garage Sale --- This activity is for our funds. At The end of the mass we will ask the church faculties to announce the said activity and we are all glad to accept their old things for us to sell it and can benefit the church.
KEY MESSAGES
This project of our team has a purpose. We do this to remind you all of how important our pamana and what its role is in our country. We organize this to let people spread the word and save it to their minds that we should not sleep in this kind of pamanas. This will also help the tourism of our own country through your willingness to help and to spread the word. We can make our country better.
